Welcome Message From Your CSNO Central Valley Section President
Dear Central Valley School Nurses,
The mission of the California School Nurses Organization is to ensure that school nurses optimize student health and enhance learning. As school nurses, we are on the front line in caring for children from very culturally and socioeconomically diverse communities. Often we are the first health care professionals to recognize and refer students for health concerns. School nurses are uniquely qualified to conduct nursing assessments that include physical health, mental health, and social and economic needs, all of which impact the well-being of children on a daily basis. We work hard to overcome barriers, facilitating access to health care and social services.
The school nurses in our section have a wealth of experience that they graciously share on a regular basis with other nurses. They are awesome, committed professionals who care deeply about the children and families they serve as well as each other. Many nurses also volunteer for a variety of organizations that provide support for those with serious medical conditions as well as those with socioeconomic needs, and they have become part of a valuable network promoting positive change in their communities.
Our Central Valley Section CSNO Leadership team is here to support school nurses who are working hard every day to ensure that each and every student receives competent, appropriate health care at school. CSNO provides an invaluable resource for professional support and networking. Our section conferences feature local medical professionals who share their expertise through interactive presentations. Our state conferences feature presentations from state and national health care professionals. We cordially invite you to join us on Facebook, and to participate in our section and state conferences. Please join us!!
